Where Has The Time Gone?

Friday night and here I am making my first contribution since last Sunday! Almost a week gone past and the intensity of business life, especially in the current economic conditions, has meant the time has flown by without any opportunity to sit down and add a few words to the blog.

Life can so often get like that. I remember a man who worked with me on a large construction project a few years ago saying that it would be his last major project. For years he had gone from one huge site to the next and then one day he looked up and realised that his son was nearly a man and he had missed most of his boyhood!

We can do the same with the spiritual side of our lives. Most people do recognise that there is more to their existence than just a body and they do intend to think about their soul. Many unfortunately get to the end of life and realise that they have never found the time to deal with the matter and they don’t know where to start. For some it is too late.

The Lord Jesus said “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Mark 8v36,37). The wise teacher who wrote the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament part of the Bible said, “Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, “ I have no pleasure in them”” (Eccl 12v1).

Don’t let the pressures of business or family life rob you of the most precious thing you have. Make it a priority to get right with God and to know the Lord Jesus as your Saviour.
